Muon Tunnel Inspection
Railway operational tunnels suffer from diverse defects and hazards, some exhibiting covert, abrupt, and complex characteristicsfor instance, adverse geological conditions above tunnels may trigger collapses. The safe operation of these tunnels relies on efficient and precise inspection methods. However, existing techniques demonstrate significant limitations in realtime monitoring, coverage, and adaptability, failing to meet the surveillance demands for complex hazards. Muon imaging technology leverages the high penetration capability and broad energy threshold of natural cosmicray muons, enabling delineation and high-resolution non-destructive imaging of subsurface structures.
